Google Video
Google Video is another popular online video site. TVedia has a dedicated section for Google Video. Users can search or browse videos on Google Video, and stream them to TVedia powered Media Center PC. One unique feature of Google Video is that without waiting for the streaming to finish downloading everything, you can seek the video time slider bar to an arbitrary time, even that part of the video hasn't been downloaded yet. TVedia will jump to that location and start streaming from there. It's not possible to do the same for YouTube online video streaming, because YouTube's server doesn't support video seeking.
From TVedia's Google Video section, you can search video by keywords or by genre and category. Often accessed genres and categories are already listed in TVedia, so you only need to select the one you like to watch.
TVedia's video playback performance and quality is also much better than viewed from Google Video site. Video up-scaling is done using bilinear filter instead of a low quality nearest neighbor filter as done on Google Video site. Videos have no tearing and only small amount of blockiness when viewed full screen. CPU usage is also much less, because video card acceleration is usage whenever available.
At this time, you cannot upload videos to Google Video or YouTube. If the online video sharing feature proves to be popular, we would add video uploading in a future version of TVedia.
