Running Personal Video Recorder (PVR)
Current TVedia release doesn't offer Personal Video Recorder (PVR) functions. However, TVedia can be configured to work with your favorite Personal Video Recorder software.
Selecting More Programs menu item on the main menu, you can configure up to 6 external programs to start from within TVedia. Press the Change button on the screen to enter external program's name and command line. Command line can contain parameters. Use of " is encouraged to reduce unexpected behavior. For example, enter
"c:\program files\8dim\tvedia\tvedia.exe"
Press the Start button on the screen to start the external program specified. When starting the external program, TVedia will be minimized, and all graphics card resource (and Xcard) released, so the external program can use the graphical resources exclusively. When the external program finishes (the process terminates), TVedia is restored to the condition before the external program starts.
Using this mechanism, you can easily switch between the PVR application and TVedia.
In the example above, TVedia 3.x can be started to record TV shows, or to watch timeshifted TV shows. Once you are done, you are back to TVedia 4, enjoying other cool features.
You can also use this mechanism to start full screen games.
TVedia can also import meta data from Windows Media Center PC recorded TV programs. You can setup TVedia to import from your recording folder, and use TVedia's file change monitor to automatically update TVedia's media library once new TV programs are recorded. Recorded shows can then be accessed easily from within TVedia.
